34.4 N Magazine

Coffee table worthy whimsical postcards produced by British artist Jacqueline Haegen grace the cover of the latest issue of N magazine.

Read all about the history of Ms. Haegen’s postcard productions in Celebrating Seaside Sauce by contributing editor Mark Storey. You can almost hear the ladies giggling outside the local shop selling her postcards as they make their purchases.

Also in this issue the 2015 election for NAC/NEF Board Members. Read their candidate statements, get your ballot, cast your vote and let your voice be heard! In addition to the election NEF has once again taken the Pulse of America in a 2015 Zogby Polls – a must read for all naturists!

We feature three separate Yoga articles in this issue as well. Isis Phoenix describes her 30-day Yoga challenge while Tracy Horgan shares the joys of Co-Ed Naked Yoga, and Barry Bailey tells us about his teaching at the STAR Tech Healing and Learning Center. After enjoying all of that yoga come explore the Simple Life of Drakes Ridge Rustic Nudist Retreat in Indiana with owners Ellyn Kern and Jerry Brown as well as a Native Meets Naturist adventure at Toadally Natural Garden right here in Wisconsin.

From there we travel to Guadeloupe, have a chat with a National Park Service Superintendent while kayaking on a Baja adventure and finally to Germany for a nude hike and a trip to Munich. Plus, Aaron Frost gives us an update on his travels in Walkabout Interrupted and we enjoy Wild Swimming with Dr. Lloyd Sparks.

We round out the issue with Pickleball at Glen Eden and Cypress Cove, an interview with a European Travel Agent, a BIG announcement from The Naturist Education Foundation and a review of newly named Eden Nudist Resort (formerly Gulf Coast Nudist Resort) as well as a report on Haulover Beach in North Miami.

Of course this issue has the usual N Sight, letters and reviews for your reading pleasure. Another fine issue!

Catching up with Nicky - TNS owner, N magazine editor and publisher.

Catching up with Nicky Hoffman LeeHello Everyone,

Summer sure is sailing by. It seems like just yesterday I was writing to you and sharing that the Eastern Naturist Gathering was only nine weeks away…and now it’s been several weeks since we returned home from it. And what a gathering it was too! Lots of really great workshops and lots of really great people.

And…guess what? I’m still on track with that one Lifetime Membership a month goal I’ve had since the first of the year. We gained two new Lifetime Members at The Eastern Naturist Gathering. Hear that Western Naturist Gathering attendees? How many will Carmen be bringing home from DeAnza?

People are really liking our 2015 Naturist Gathering Tour Shirts. They come in Merlot and Cream. How about one of each? The Duffel Bag was a real big hit at the gathering and so were the new travel tumblers and the aqua pearl hot/cold packs. Take a look at all our new goodies while you’re at it.

On a sad note we lost one of our long-time members right after the Eastern Naturist Gathering. Lisa Flanagan passed away at the very young age of 51. Healing thoughts and prayers go out to her husband Mike and the rest of her family.

It’s always difficult to lose one of our “family” members. All the more reason to stay in touch…

Til next time,

Nicky Signature

Naturist Society founder Lee Baxandall

Lee Baxandall Naturist Society Founder TNS founder Lee Baxandall's first skinny-dipping experiences were as a young Boy Scout camping in Twin Lakes Reservation in Wisconsin. After receiving his master's degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Baxandall moved to New York, where he became active writing, translating, and critiquing plays. He also applied his writing skills to producing books on the arts, psychology, and politics. His political activism at this time prepared him for his interest in naturism to come. Together We Can Grow Naturism

Commemorative Tile

"Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." - Vince Lombardi

Did you know that when you become a member of The Naturist Society, shop the Skinny-Dipper, volunteer your time, or donate money to naturist causes you become a part of an inclusive and caring community that has been promoting and protecting naturism for more than 30 years?

Today, more of our beaches and public lands reserved for naturists is shrinking, making The Naturist Society's work more crucial than ever. We are not only battling to keep naturist ideals alive for future generations, but like you we are also fighting a downturn in the economy, and subsequently, membership dollars. We can't achieve our goals without the support of those that share in our passion for preserving what Lee Baxandall, and others before us have fought so hard for! With so much at stake, we hope you will consider supporting our work.

We are proud of the work we do, fighting for your right to enjoy nude recreation at beaches, resorts, hot springs and public lands, hosting naturist events on both coasts and publishing the first-class naturist magazine N but we can't do it alone. Won't you consider joining or renewing today so together we can continue to make strides in making naturism more main stream. Please MAIL, shop ONLINE, or call 800-886-7230 and become a member of our community!

If you are already a Naturist Society member please consider making a donation. Your support is appreciated and for every donation of $100 or more you will receive a Collectors Edition Commemorative Tile dedicated to Lee Baxandall. Each tile is numbered, seal coated, and hand crafted by naturist artist Joanne Sampey using "naked" white clay. Very limited quantities available!

Consider a Lifetime Membership

Become a Lifetime TNS memberThe Saguaro Cactus, survives in a barren, dry area due to the symbiotic relationship it shares with the creatures of the desert. Birds, bats, and insects flock to the pollen of this cactis' night blooming flowers, spreading the seeds that allow for new growth. In return the cacti provide shelter and nourishment. In this way naturists and The Naturist Society are similar. Without TNS, naturists would lose many beaches to government legislation…and without the support of naturists TNS will not grow and thrive. Won't you please consider becoming a lifetime member today and support the cause!

"It gives us a great feeling knowing that The Naturist Society is doing so much to protect our rights. The ongoing challenges naturists face are vast, but by joining with TNS and their history of remarkable accomplishments, we are proud to be a small part of the much needed solutions that The Naturist Society provides." -Claudette Richard and Jim Dickey, lifetime members since 1991.
