33.4 N Magazine

A Dream Fulfilled.

Naturist Society owner and Nude & Natural editor Nicky Hoffman dreamed 30 years ago of having an all women written issue of N and it is finally here!

You don’t even have to open the cover of 33.4 to know that this is going to be a great issue! Helen Smith Jones created this issue's cover to encompass the many facets of women in naturism and we feel she did exactly that. We’ve included a profile on Helen so you can get to know the innovative lady behind the art.

This issue begins with The Vagina Monologues which was performed nude on the February 2014 Bare Necessities cruise. Then Nancy Casey regales us with The Naked Truth About Being Nude; there is an article on facebook censorship, the healing powers of naturism and Judy Williams proclaiming I am Naturist Woman! Hear Me Roar!

If that’s not enough to get you reading this issue check out Shirley Mason talking about Haulover Beach and all it has to offer, another profile on a young naturist mom who began taking Yoga classes and is now a Yoga instructor. Another profile on a naturist woman who practices naturism on her terms and yet another who questions whether she is right with God. Becky Silverstein writes about naturism and how it’s not what she thought it would be and Suzanne Schell shares aren’t we all naturists for ourselves? And there’s even more…

There is no doubt that this is the issue that is bound to be the go to publication for anyone who is on the fence about trying naturism. From cover to cover this issue is filled with something for everyone. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.

Be sure to purchase two copies…one to keep and one to give as a gift!

Catching up with Nicky - TNS owner, N magazine editor and publisher.

Catching up with Nicky Hoffman LeeFall has arrived—at least here in Wisconsin. The leaves are turning to bright orange and yellow and the mornings are a bit brisk. But as I put on my light jacket and head out the door I have the memories of the gatherings keeping the sun in my heart.

Summer seemed to fly by this year. One minute we were heading out to Pennsylvania for the Eastern Naturist Gathering and the next minute we were coming home from Idaho and the Western Naturist Gathering. What happened to summer? Leaving Sun Meadow in August Carmen and I enjoyed breakfast in Moscow, Idaho, drove through the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge and had dinner with friends in Portland, Oregon. We ended our Western trip with a visit to Mark and Kathy in Seattle. We truly love our naturist family and after each gathering we both come back to office renewed and energized to keep fighting for our family's right to enjoy nude recreation.

Currently there is lots of exciting things happening here at the TNS office. We recently purchased a new machine to process membership cards and now have new, sturdy, colorful cards that fit perfectly in your wallet. Renew today and receive one of these spiffy new cards.

We’re also busy putting the final touches on a 2015 calendar and finishing up the next issue of N magazine—both should be off to the printer in a couple of weeks so watch your mailbox.

In addition we are receiving new merchandise so make sure to stop by our Skinny-Dipper Shop often to see what we have to offer. With me heading out for a vacation soon I’m sure the “girls in the office” will be up to something while I’m out enjoying the sun.

Have you signed up for our e-mail list yet? If not, you should do so now…you never know when a special offer will be arriving exclusively for our e-mail list participates.

Until next time……

Naturist Society founder Lee Baxandall

Lee Baxandall Naturist Society Founder TNS founder Lee Baxandall's first skinny-dipping experiences were as a young Boy Scout camping in Twin Lakes Reservation in Wisconsin. After receiving his master's degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Baxandall moved to New York, where he became active writing, translating, and critiquing plays. He also applied his writing skills to producing books on the arts, psychology, and politics. His political activism at this time prepared him for his interest in naturism to come. Together We Can Grow Naturism

Commemorative Tile

"Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." - Vince Lombardi

Did you know that when you become a member of The Naturist Society, shop the Skinny-Dipper, volunteer your time, or donate money to naturist causes you become a part of an inclusive and caring community that has been promoting and protecting naturism for more than 30 years?

Today, more of our beaches and public lands reserved for naturists is shrinking, making The Naturist Society's work more crucial than ever. We are not only battling to keep naturist ideals alive for future generations, but like you we are also fighting a downturn in the economy, and subsequently, membership dollars. We can't achieve our goals without the support of those that share in our passion for preserving what Lee Baxandall, and others before us have fought so hard for! With so much at stake, we hope you will consider supporting our work.

We are proud of the work we do, fighting for your right to enjoy nude recreation at beaches, resorts, hot springs and public lands, hosting naturist events on both coasts and publishing the first-class naturist magazine N but we can't do it alone. Won't you consider joining or renewing today so together we can continue to make strides in making naturism more main stream. Please MAIL, shop ONLINE, or call 800-886-7230 and become a member of our community!

If you are already a Naturist Society member please consider making a donation. Your support is appreciated and for every donation of $100 or more you will receive a Collectors Edition Commemorative Tile dedicated to Lee Baxandall. Each tile is numbered, seal coated, and hand crafted by naturist artist Joanne Sampey using "naked" white clay. Very limited quantities available!

Consider a Lifetime Membership

Become a Lifetime TNS memberThe Saguaro Cactus, survives in a barren, dry area due to the symbiotic relationship it shares with the creatures of the desert. Birds, bats, and insects flock to the pollen of this cactis' night blooming flowers, spreading the seeds that allow for new growth. In return the cacti provide shelter and nourishment. In this way naturists and The Naturist Society are similar. Without TNS, naturists would lose many beaches to government legislation…and without the support of naturists TNS will not grow and thrive. Won't you please consider becoming a lifetime member today and support the cause!

"It gives us a great feeling knowing that The Naturist Society is doing so much to protect our rights. The ongoing challenges naturists face are vast, but by joining with TNS and their history of remarkable accomplishments, we are proud to be a small part of the much needed solutions that The Naturist Society provides." -Claudette Richard and Jim Dickey, lifetime members since 1991.
